What Does An Engagement Ring Symbolize?
Our Instagram feed is flooded with these wonderful moments, where an engagement ring has long been associated with a marriage proposal.
You’re aware of those, correct? The proposers are down on one knee, seeming delighted but yet a little uneasy. An engagement ring is a concrete and obvious statement that you are loved and that the one giving it to you wants to formalize your relationship. Its significance speaks volumes.
“I couldn’t have dreamed you into existence because I didn’t even know I needed you. You must have been sent to me.” — Kamand Kojouri.
Although any ring can be used as an engagement ring, diamond engagement rings are by far the most common type. Naturally, the possibilities are endless when it comes to selecting the ideal ring.
The finger that the engagement ring is worn on is one of the many exceptions to this norm. Similar to a wedding band, an engagement ring is traditionally worn on the third finger of the left hand in Western cultures. It is a fairly obvious sign that you are in a relationship. However, because the left hand is seen to be unfortunate, other cultures wear engagement rings on the right hand. You know what feels right? We’re here to help, no matter how you want to celebrate.
